Obituary of Marion Steven Gonsiorowski

Marion Steven Gonsiorowski or “Steve” as he was known, was born July 31, 1944 in Newfoundland, Canada. His parents; Marion, Sr. from Pennsylvania and Catherine Houihan from Newfoundland. He passed on March 8, 2025 in his home in El Dorado Hills, California, with his wife, Janine by his side. They had been happily married for 35 years. He loved to hike, grow a garden, work hard as a Journeyman Plumber for 55 years, for the Union, as well as independent contractor; Gonsiorowski Plumbing. But his passion was being a great baseball player; catcher then pitcher for 7 years with the Men’s Senior Baseball League in Sacramento. He was inducted in the Men’s Senior Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015 in Sacramento. He coached varsity baseball at Oakridge High School for 3 years.

He was a father to Steve, Jr. and David, a grandfather to; Zach, Gannon, Makenna and Aiden. He loved his family and enjoyed watching them participate in their own sport. He was active in charities; Make a wish, March of Dimes; which helped him at age 4 overcame Polio, and KVIE Auction on TV. There will be a small memorial service at the ballfield in Sacramento, and a family service in South Lake Tahoe later this summer. Since 2015, Steve was diagnosed with Dementia, Primary Progressive Aphasia; frontal temporal which impaired his speech. It became progressively worse affecting his stride, and his health. He always had a smile, joked like Robin Williams and was known as a great teammate and soulmate. He’s now in the “Field of Dreams” playing baseball ⚾️ once again.🥰
