To our players, fans, and baseball family

I was nominated by Lanny Ropke and approved by our Board of Directors to be the President of the Sacramento Men’s Senior Baseball League. I look forward to serving you, the board, and the league in general.

It is my opinion that the SMSBL is by far the most competitive and talented amateur baseball league in America as evidenced by our numerous national championships.

The coming Spring and Summer seasons look to be as successful as the past. We have a very committed board and each individual has taken an active role in the category that they are responsible for. Contact Lanny our new Vice President if you cannot get a hold of me, Alan Van Ness is our marketing person especially if you would like to publicize your business on our outfield fences. Rusty McLain in complex operations, is working hard with our complex partners, East Sac Babe Ruth, coordinating the use of the facility by both leagues. Tony Im is our documentation person as Secretary and maintains recordkeeping responsibility. David Whitesel is our game scheduler and along with that comes rain and headaches. Bill Barnette acts as both commissioner and will be assisting Rusty with operations. Ron Williams is involved with special projects around the complex such as construction and lighting as it relates to safety and security. Dennis Viegas is our complex manager and the reason the fields look as well as they do and facilitates scheduling for the high schools, CIF, semi pro and when available, weekend tournaments via outside youth baseball organizations. Rob Segura is our league commissioner and do everything contact from the website, to manager and player liaison of both divisions, promotions, SMSBL merchandise, and rules and compliance issues. Without these individuals and their hard work and of course our players both past and present., we wouldn’t be the premier organization and league that we have become.

Check with the website from time to time for new announcements such as Hall of Fame activities and the upcoming summer season. Visit the snack bar to support the Babe Ruth league in the Spring and the SMSBL during the summer league.
