Guys, here are a few things I need to remind you ALL
to forward to your teammate. First off there is NO swing or practice hitting of
ANY kind on ANY grass surfaces within the fences of the field.(Dirt areas only)
On deck circle, or warning tracks only(DIRT)! If your
going to hit fly balls or hit wiffle balls before
your games? Do it off the (DIRT)! Warming up prior to the games(Playing
catch or stretching), needs to be done off of the foul lines(Like 15 or 20 feet
into the outfield). These thing take there toll on the areas of grass if we
don't keep them under control. Thus far I've been very close on the weather
calls I've made, and the field will not withstand it's usage under wet
conditions. In saying that the games that are having to be made up, at times
might seem like a pain in the rear to you, but are a bigger pain to US. If we
call you and ask can you play on this day or that day, and you say no, well I
might not be able to be made up? Our schedule is going to get very crazy in
March and April with the forecast of rain for the next few weeks. So you'll
need to be flexible and try and gather your guys sometimes on short
notice? I don't want to seem like the big "bleep" that I am
about the field rules, but from what I've seen in the few games that we've
played thus far these issue's need to be addressed NOW! Hopefully when you all
get your chances to get on them, you'll find that there playing better than
they ever have! The grass is plush and slow and when the rain slows the dirt is
as firm as never before. As manager I'm putting this responsibility of telling
and keeping your player informed, on you managers! So if these
action keep happening over and over again, It is you as the manager I
will have to deal with or you with me.
Thank You. Dennis Viegas. Complex
manager.
