Mark was born and raised in Sacramento. He began his baseball career with Little League and from junior high through Norte Del Rio HS played with East Sac Babe Ruth. Afterwards, he went into the US Navy where he played fast pitch softball, since baseball was not available and where they selected him to play in the All-Navy tournament.

When Mark returned home from the Navy, he started a family. Only at the age of 38 did he finally find time to play baseball again. The moment he was asked to play in the Sacramento City Sunday league, he was hooked. He played for a couple of teams in the City league unitl Freddy Creal invited him to play in the Sacramento Men’s Baseball League for the Tigers. The Tigers won several championships in the six years Mark played with them. He went on to the play for the 40+ Giants for a couple of years and two championships, and has been with the Cardinals ever since. Nationally, Mark has earned MSBL World Series Championship rings with the Tribe and Royals.

Mark has also served as an officer of the SMSB Board of Directors in the capcity of commisioner, McAullife Event Scheduler, and Project Manager. He has donated uncountless hours of his time and heavy equipment to the complex. Mark’s ability as a player, his commitment as a board member, and his countless volunteer hours over the years are exepimary qualities to be recognized, commended, and deserving of being named to the hall of fame.
